I'm active duty military and this is what we need to travel. One, we are allowed to enter other countries with our military ID and a copy of our orders. I can't just show my ID card an say let me into your country. If I am traveling to another country on vacation I need to have a passport and a visa for that country.
If I enter a country and land on a military base. We do not go through customs while on deployment. If I am beign assigned to a base overseas I will have to go through customs. And the same is true when I return to the United States. I have never been allowed to bypass customs. This is true for all branches of the military.

Most countries allow military personnel to enter the country using their military ID instead of a passport. However, some countries still require a passport even for military personnel.

i'm hoping you controlled to confirm which you or your airline basically has to touch the Immigration government at your arrival airport and clarify the area. as long as you do no longer go away it to the final minute, they are able to examine which you have a passport issued on your call and no be counted if that's valid or no longer. you may acquire permission to fly in case you have and that they might not entice the £2000 fee for wearing an undocumented passenger. you've long previous to the honorary consul on your section and taken care of this out. there is often one interior a lifelike distance in case you reside in a properly populated section.

The military do not have passports, only their dependents, if you are active military....you use only your ID card. Certain countries will not allow you to come in with only an ID card, so some military personnel do have passports.

Well I am a U.S. Marine and I have been to many places. At the moment I am stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I don't even have a passport. We don't need one to go to other counrtys. However we do need to show our orders and our military I.D. With out your orders or military I.D. you can't come into the country your taveling to. If you go to a county by a military ship then you dont show orders or I.D.

You do not need a passport. You do not go through customs. The military has baggage checks that makes the customs system look tame.

passports are carried by military due to: (a) requirements of the host country when they are off base and (b) having another form of identification other than an armed forces active duty card for security purposes.
