I can't remember the name but I was told a few weeks ago of a protection from spyware/viruses program that, in addition to protecting your PC, it will do nasty things to the PC of the person who tried to infect your PC. Has anyone of such program and if so, what NASTY THINGS does it do to the other PC ? If that is true, then it's the best thing since slice bread !! Thanks.

Black Ice is an Intrusion detection software, by DigitalRiver. (see address) It monitors all incoming Internet traffic, and stops suspicious activity. I'm not sure about the new version, but the old version would allow you to track the IP of the offending computer. I used it several years ago. I had someone who kept trying to get into my system. With Black Ice I was able to track the IP to a Law School. With the help of their administration, they tracked it to one of their students. He was dismissed from the University.

Unfortunately, federal law prohibits you from taking any kind of actions such as you suggest. It would be awesome to do, but then you become as guilty as the hacker.

I have not heard of that but I certainly would love to have it since I am getting all of these sub-human letters from Uganda and everywhere else wanting to give me millions of dollars because of a rich relative dying and the person offering must have someone in the US to send the money to in order to get it out of the country. I saw a thing on it on the Good Morning America newscast and it was interesting. Almost all of them originate from a few of the African countries, esp Uganda. Scamming and victimization. God, I would love to reply with a virus and when they opened it, it would evaporate their drives.
