I don't think I follow. What are you asking, exactly?

Hypocrisy is part of human nature. It's not making excuses. It's what we have become, if you pardon the cliche, since we gained the intelligence to do so. It doesn't cause atheism, neither does it cause religious fanatism (for those who would like to jump down your throat for even suggesting such idiocy).
I rather think that skepticism and cynicism play more of a part in that. I have to admit though, that all these are taught and not self-learnt. Our experiences and the way we react (or are taught to react) to them also play a very important part in getting a person disillusioned.
No one actively ever help other people become that way. It can be said that this is a life choice - albeit one that is almost always made sub-conciously, whether we like/know it or not.

Did someone tell you that you have to help people become atheists? If they did, then you should ask that person why they told you to do that.
A strong understanding of logic, critical thinking, and the real meaning of truth and knowledge are likely to cause atheism. Look at the proportion of members of the national academy of sciences who are atheists, it is VERY high.
I'm sure many religious people are going to dislike this very much but there is much evidence showing that atheism is strongly correlated to higher education and IQ, as shown by many studies, not just a personal belief.(1)
Oh, and glassnegman:
"You should also correct the views of others when those views cause harm. Beyond that, it is inappropriate to act upon your judgments"
Do you know anything at all about how many people have been slaughtered in the name of religion? I call that "harm".

Hypocrisy causes hypocrites, period.
An atheist couldn't be termed atheist if you can convince him, his decision is based on the perception that God doesn't exist because of a lack of evidence. Not hypocrisy of the Christians.
These are two separate events.
As always guilt is optional.

Hello =)
It doesn't cause Atheism...it merely validates it.
You shouldn't help people become Atheists, but you should help people be comfortable in their religious choices, whatever that may be. You should also correct the views of others when those views cause harm. Beyond that, it is inappropriate to act upon your judgments, and you are being no better than those you would have become different.
Namaste, and Happy New Year,

I'm not sure that you can help anyone become athiest. I am an athiest, and when asked I explain why I feel that way. It primarily comes from the inconsistency in what the bible teaches and science. Becoming an athiest is something you do on your own based on your own personal beliefs and experiences.

They possibly think of atheists are conceited for having the nerve to stand as much as christianity and their God. i can not think of of a single reason atheists may well be hypocritical. No, those non secular adult adult males are actually not atheists & putting them into the atheist type simply by fact they did detrimental issues, fairly of their ideals and ideology, is somewhat mean and biased. they are nevertheless christians who sinned extraordinarily & with any luck is in simple terms no longer forgiven for having intercourse with little ones. And homosexuality isn't an evil, in simple terms like it truly is not a existence-variety.

Maybe in a way it does...
Many people go to church on Sunday and "play along", but their actions throughout the week are contrary to what they are taught on Sunday and profess to believe. This could cause doubt in others that are confused and trying to decide. They could also defensively turn away themselves if someone "calls them" on their hypocracy.

no honesty causes belief in or not in any god hypocrisy causes those who demand that you believe what they want you to most of those people are not real believers they just need to reassure themselves and others that they are right kind of like the guy who asks his girlfriend all the time " was it good for you to ? "

Do think your behavior will hinder God's plans?
I have never met a Christian or an Atheist whom did not sin, and for those Christ died. You are diminishing the cross, thinking your behavior will get you a good judgement. Good works are the result of faith, but they don't save anyone.....
