It depends on what your age is. If you are 18 and they are 26, then I would say that is quite a age and maturity difference. Once you get into the 20 and 30's the 8 years won't seem so bad.

My husband is 8 years older than I am. I never was attracted by boys of my own age. I needed someone more mature who could teach me other things about life and about myself. I learnt a lot, I grew up a lot and we are happily married since 11 years.

Well... That kind of depends. However a relationship can work if you both want it to. However that requires work on both sides, otherwise it will fail. A few more factors to consider are, who is it, how you know them, & other simple things like that.
