I was just wondering if I would have to pay a little extra the first time I go for laser hair removal or do I just pay for each session as I go? For example, if the session costs 100$ would I pay that each time until my treatments are done? I was also wondering how often I must go? I hear it's every 4 weeks, but I'm not sure if everyone is different. I would be type 2 skin type if that makes a difference.

It depends on the provider. Some charge per Tx, some sell packages for a discount and others sell packages and offer a 2 year hair removal guarantee. Many of the package providers offer financing so that you don't have to come up with all of the cash at once.

For how often you get treated....it should be 4-6 weeks for hairs above the neck and 8-12 weeks for hairs below the neck. The difference is due to hair growth cycles for different parts of the body.

Most laser hair removal clinic charge a fixed amount per treatment and you pay after each one. In some instances a discount may apply if you buy a pack of treatments and pay in advance.

The number of treatments required depends on what body part is being treated and how strong your hair growth is. Laser hair removal treatments work best on fair skinned people with dark hair as the laser machine has to be able to differentiate between the hair and the skin.

Most clinics don't tell you this and will not actually guarantee permanent hair loss as it has been known for body hair to start growing again after 12-18 months. Ask you laser clinic about their policy regarding this.

As you will be investing a significant amount of money in these treatments you may want to try a low cost home laser hair removal kit like the Rio and test it on a small area of skin and review its effectiveness.

The Rio uses a safe 808nm diverging diode laser and treats one hair at a time whereas salon machines treat an area of about 1cm squared. If the results are satisfactory then you could do your whole face at a salon.

From what I know you pay everytime you have a session and your sessions usually depend on how much hair and the thickness of the hair so really its up to the doctor and only he can tell you or just call around!

call the various places that do it and ask them. if a single session is 100 dollars i suppose most places will want the whole ammount but you might find someone who will put you on a payment plan, they are all different.
