The most important thing you can do to make house training happen as quickly as possible is to reward and praise your puppy every time he goes in the right place. The more times your puppy is rewarded, the quicker he will learn. Therefore, it's important that you spend as much time as possible with your puppy and give him regular and frequent access to his toilet area.

Since puppies are so impressionable, it is important to begin explaining the rules right away. Don't give her special license to get away with anything just because she is a puppy. If you allow her to have her way about certain things now, she will only be confused later when you decide to change the rules. Puppies learn very quickly with proper instruction. Never hit your puppy or give harsh reprimands. They don't mean to misbehave - they are just doing whatever comes naturally. Instead, show your puppy what kind of behavior you want. Teach her to play with her toys. Make them fun and exciting. Let her know how happy you are and how good she is when she chews them. Then, when you see her chewing your furniture, firmly tell her, "Off!" and immediately show her one of her own toys. Encourage her to play with and chew on it. Praise her profusely when she does so. If you don't catch her in the act, anything you do will confuse her. The only way you can instruct your puppy is to be there. If you can't be there, don't allow her to have access to places where she can get into trouble.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aL2Fq

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

I have a friend that just suggested to me, to take a puppy training class at PetCo or check your local pet store for something similar. It will make the experience for both of you better.

I have a 2 month old pup too.
I learned that PUPPY PADS are amazing in this case! She does well with them but the only disadvantage is if you remove the puppy pad for even a few hours the puppy will go there thinking the pads there ...

or

Litterbox train her like a cat only you can get certain litter for dogs from the vets and the letter is made out of newspaper rolled into pellet shaped so you wont have any litter crystals like cats use.

best of luck!

Here is a good site on training and behavior:

Two months is very young. Does she have a crate? Don't let her have the run of the place. Try keeping her near you on a leash so you can tell when she has to go. Don't punish. When she does the right thing give her something yummy like a bit of cheese. I use cat food kibble for my dogs. You can teach a dog to go on command outside, too. When you're out on a walk, when the pup seems ready to go or as she's going say something like, "Hurry up!" When she goes give a treat. It shouldn't take too long. Be consistent and patient.

simple solutions makes potty pads that are scented to encourage the natural need to pee-but on the pads. I used those and when i was home I took my puppy out the same door every hour or so to see if he needed to go-and he usually did. now he goes to that door and either whines a little or scratches at it. I get up and he goes out and does his business. it took like 2 weeks.

Eight weeks old is still a very young pup and remember the mom cleans up after her pups. They are babies and cannot hold long.

Crate training works well for most. Crate is not a punishment or long term situation. Never use paper inside if you are wanting them to potty on paper. Old folded towels work good and can be laundered as needed. Place peepads right outside crate so when you open the door the pup can go on pad. Pads are scented to encourage use. If you get pup use to sleeping in crate, it will by instinct leave its bed to potty.

As it gets a bit older, take a used pad and place at door to outide and let it sniff for its scent. The process is to get the pup going to the door to alert you. Obviously, take outside to potty as much as possible and praise it alot. Praise and words like "go potty" until it knows what "go potty" mean and outside is where my owner wants me to go.

Pups need time outside to play, run and go potty, don't rush or it will not finish and then inside accidents! And be all excited and huggy after it potties. They catch on quick. I do not do the scolding thing if there is a accident. There will be but it takes consistant urging and patience from you to work, Lots of praise, even a treat.

Once fairly trained, leave crate door open for pup. She may make that her "bed" until outgrows. Toys and treats inside.
