Absolutely! Beijing is my hometown! It's the most classic city in China, Not to mention the landmark of China, the majestic Great Wall! Stroll in the 500 years Forbidden City, or ride on the dragon boat in the Qing Dynasty imperial garden - the Summer Palace, or taste the imperial banquet in the most authentic restaurant which served exclusively to the Qing emperor and empress before... Does it sound like a life long memory?
I will highly recommend you get some professional help, like hotel arrangement, restaurant reservation and a professional escort (No worries about the language barrier). The guide will just smooth the tour, won't be interfere the honey of your honeymoon!:-) This way you can have a perfect arranged honeymoon, just sit back and enjoy!
If you like, we would be more than happy to help you to arrange your honeymoon in Beijing! Please feel free to contact me at: Jia@Jiasdreamtours.com

It will depend on what your and your partner's interests are. It also depends on the time of your wedding.
Beijing is a city with rich cultural and historical background. If you and your partner are into history, trying different and many types of food, and inexpensive shopping, Beijing is suitable for you.
However, there are some time of the year which I don't suggest you visit Beijing due to weather conditions (This is when your wedding day matters). First of all, April and May are not good times due to possible sand storms occuring in the city. Secondly, July and August are too hot, temp. could go as hight as 35C+. Third, mid-Nov. to early March is the winter season where temp. goes to below 0.
Don't speaking Chinese in Beijing won't be a problem. I know 4 of my friends (white, brown, and mixed, none speaking Chinese) spent a week there in 2002 in the summer(July), other than the 30C+ air, everything else was fun for them: cheap hotel, cheap food, cheap shopping, cheap entertainment, and more importantly (for them) cheap beer.
Finding a good place to stay will depend on your budget. And also depending on who you'd talk to as of your travel agent/organizer. When my friends visited Beijing, I suggested to them (since I'm Chinese and have relatives and friends living in Beijing) to stay in one of the university hotels, like Peking Univeristy or Tsinghua University. It is cheap, quiet (away from the excitement of the city), and relatively easy accessing to major part of the city and surround areas such as the great wall.
FYI, I'm Chinese Canadian who speak Chinese in case you want to take answerers' background into your consideration when reading the answers. In case you find my answer worth further discussion or want to get more out of my limited experience (Been to Bejing about a few dozen times with length of stay ranging from a few hours to a month), you may contact me at taosang@alumni.uwaterloo.ca

It is ok, not as good as Shanghai!!!
I have to add some details in regards to Da Balistic and the other gentlemen's reply.
Obviously, you haven't been to China. Yes, it is a communist but so what? The economy is booming in a skyrocket rate. Technology is advancing and the country is rich. If you haven't beem to Hong Kong, then you should try it before you start making dumb comments.
Bejing is a good place but another good place of honeymoon is HONG KONG!!!!!!!!

It's pretty cold there now, I went with a tour and enjoyed the trip. Not many people speak English, so be sure and take a card from your hotel.

I think you must not try to spoil your honeymoon.
Better to opt for Goa(India), Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius etc. which are really cool destinations for honeymooners.

Hey, Bejing's AWESOME!!! I was born close to Shanghai, but really, anywhere in China's really, really cool. I have got to agree with travelgal 'cuz you can see some really cool stuff in Bejing. And the other people that tried to talk you out of going, don't listen to them.

Go to South Korea instead. China is highly polluted and corrupt. Melbourne, Australia is even better.
