It is normal to lose the scabs, but you should be putting first aid antibiotic cream on it, not lubriderm.

The scabs on your tattoo will fall off, that is definitely part of the healing process. However, if the scabs come off too soon, they may pull the ink out with them. Try not to rub the lotion so much as just patting it on. Scrubbing too hard or disturbing the skin can lead to the tattoo healing poorly or losing color quality. Follow the aftercare instructions that your artist gave you very carefully! I ignored my artist's warning not to take overly long showers, and when some of my scabs came off in the shower, I was left with splotches on my tattoo that now need touching up.
Hope everything works out okay for you!

YES that is the normal healing process. When you rub lightly on it and the scab peels off then it is normal and you are fine. It looks like your healing process should be almost over.

First of all, congratulations on your new tattoo!
Yes, it's normal for it to scab, but try not to pick at it. I used to keep mine covered at night so I didn't scratch them in my sleep.
It's already been mentioned, but you shouldn't use regular lotion on it. An antibiotic cream would be better, but I personally recommend using Bag Balm (Wal-Mart carries it, it's in the pet section) - that's what my tattooist always gives for new tattoos and it's great. It's got a Vaseline-like consistency but it's very soothing.

As long as you're being gentle with rubbing in the creme... it should be fine.
When you're tattooed your skin reacts to it like a cut with healing itself and the same thing with the scab gradually coming off... as long as ur not picking it off at all it will be fine.
I have had 2 tattoos myself,

I admit I actually are starting to be to be a tattoo or 2 in basic terms for the "hell of it." i do no longer remorseful approximately them deeply yet in some situations I do choose i assumed approximately it longer than I did on those 2 tattoos. I strongly urge you to reassess given which you're asking this question. in case you're adamant on getting a tattoo, then get a splash bit paper and write down the 1st 6 issues that mean the worldwide to you or a minimum of has a particular which means to you. cutting-edge it to the tattoo artist and s/he can comedian strip it out on you in accordance with those 6 issues and clarify to the tattoo artist that it does not ought to incorporate all 6 to grant them greater leeway.

Use the cream your tat artist recommended so you don't screw up your tat. But scabs coming off are a normal part of the process.
