Let me clear one thing up here...Parvovirus is Airborne.
That means, the virus spreads through the air,so no dog -to -dog contact is necessary.Parvo can be dragged in on shoes,in a persons hair,on clothing.Or just by opening a window and letting the wind move the virus in...so in other words,if a dog in the neighborhood has parvo, and the wind blows your way,and your dog is not immunized by proper vaccinations,he/she can get Parvo.....scary,isnt it?
IF your dog gets Parvo, you need to keep ALL other dogs away for 6 months at least.Do NOT get a new puppy! The virus can stay live that long....
Clean all surfaces several times with bleachwater.
Spray the outside where the Parvo infected dog has been with bleachwater. As you see,I have not mentioned the fact that your dog may have Parvo.Reason being,if the dog isnt already at a vets office being treated, there probably isnt a dog to talk about...Parvo is deadly, and very few infected animals survive. It is also a terrible death, one you definitely dont want your dog to suffer!
So,to somehow help,I told you about Parvo, and what to do after an infection...all visitors to your house will have to change shoes and clothes and take a shower once they get home too..for 6 months after.Or they may get the virus in their home...so we are talking seriously bad event here.
Please make sure all dogs are vaccinated against Parvo!
I pray your dog didnt have it,and is well by now.
Hope this helped someone understand the seriousness of a Parvo infestation in a neighborhood.

If your dog has parvo-virus or you suspect this dog has parvo virus put it away from any other dog in the house DO NOT TAKE THE DOG OUTSIDE FOR ANY REASON AND RING THE VET IMMEDIATLY AND TELL THEM THAT YOU THINK YOUR DOG HAS THAT VIRUS.
just a trace of that illness on the grass can kill a dog and the only way it can be contracted is from dog to dog. and as I said earlier it can and will kill a dog.
