Hi,
let me just put what i want to say in points.
1) i am commited to a guy who lives in another country
2)we want to get married
3) we are from the middle east originally
4) we love each other alooooooooooootttttttttttt
5) THE "PROBLEM" - when i call him and he doesnt pick up (coz he is with his friends and doesnt like to talk to me in front of them..sort of tradition thing), he MOSTLY doesnt call me back later on and it makes me sad. we always chat everyday. but i still want to hear his voice .. not only chat. of course he does call but mostly chat.
I told him how i feel about this issue and he said ok he will cal back , however he hasnt changed much.

what should i do? do u think its a real problem? sometimes i say maybe its coz of the high call rates for international calls

Ana.- thanks alot u actually understood me more. its hard to describe the whole relationship here. anyways he is doing a phd and mostly when he doesnt call back he comes online immediately. he is of course busy. one more thing, usually in the middle east girl-boy relationships outside marriage are not looked at in a good way. thats why he doesnt want to do anything that will hurt my reputation so he doesnt talk to me in front of his friends. we r planning to get married the comin summer hopefully

First long distance relationships dont really work out that well and its emotional because of the time spent apart..and I dont think he loves you that much if he did he wouldnt care about what his friends say, what should matter to him is hearing your voice..and if you two just chat alot thats weird to me thats not a "REAL" relationship..sorry but thats my oppinion..good luck!

I am not certain. First of all, you say you both are from the middle east. Please don't be offended if I sound like I'm stereotyping (perhaps out of ignorance), but is it customary for men in the middle east to be somewhat less expressive to a female? Secondly, it may be due to the international cost of the call; however, you may have to judge his attitude and the quality of the conversation while you guys are "chatting" rather than focusing on the times in between when you two aren't talking.

As you mentioned, you two do chat everyday so he may not see it as anything urgent to call you back right away when he already spoke to you earlier. I understand that you are in love with him and want to hear his voice; however, you do not want to smuther him or demand that he calls you every chance he gets. I am certain that he is busy with work and social life...not that you are not more important.

It is hard to be in a long distance relationship. I was in your shoes long ago and know how you feel. I was miserable waiting on his phone call. Until you two are living in the same town together, nothing will make the absence any easier. Any plans on when that will happen?

Sounds pretty fishy to me. I say give him a taste of his own medicine. You obviously voiced your opinion, and he decided not to respect you. Now you should do the same to him. Don't be at his beck and call. Do your own thing to. If he cares, he'll say something.
