Yes, I did know this. There is a wonderful book called "Dogs Bite but Slippers and Balloons are more Dangerous" by Janis Bradley that demystifies the CDC statistics on dog bites in general.

I love pitties. They used to be the ultimate family dog but ignorance and hysteria replaced them. Yet, people that have pitties lose their hearts to these wonderful, sensitive dogs.

I love my pitbull Ive had 2 in my life and I absolutly love this breed they are wonderful they arent killers. Kill the dumbass people who train them to fight and attack not the dog. Pitbulls havent done any harm. Its the trainer not the dog. Dogs can only be trained and its the people who train the dogs to fight who should be punished. Im so sick of seeing people write bad things about this breed. And some of the pictures on pitbull sites of pitbulls being killed just because they are pitbulls! On one case 4 teens thought it was funny to burn a pitbull puppy! FOR NO REASON.

Anyone who would ever even think of doing that should go straight to h***. I hate people who kill pitbulls for being that breed.

Theyve done nothing to you so why hurt them.

ITS THE WAY THEY ARE TRAINED.

My pit is such a sweeeeetie pie she wouldnt even touch a fly. I love her! In fact today Ava and I were sittin outside on the steps and all the sudden I heard some little girl crying from the ice rink 2 houses down, my 2 1/2 MONTH OLD PUPPY ran to that little girl and stayed by her until the mom came and my puppy knew the littl girl had gotten hurt when she heard the crying. Wow pitbulls sure are killers huh, what a joke if they were killers then why are most dog heros PITBULLS.

People who are against them need to GET REAL.

Pitbulls represent about 1-2 fatalities a year for the nearly 30 deaths caused by dogs each year and often the media says a person was attacked by a pit but it was an entirely diff breed but they sell news not truth .All dogs have aggressive instincts even the cute little ones this is why they must be socialized with other dogs, pets and most of all children and must never be treated as humans all too often I see people treating their dog like a child and this only confuses the dog and it blurs the relationship.A dog wants to love its master and obey so you must keep it in perspective and this does not mean that you cant love your dog and play in fact you do your dog a great service when you allow him/her to be a dog after all each and every dog bred was created to assist and serve man.And not in some sick perverse way like dog fights but ways of protection, game hunting and family fun.

Actually there are only about three(3) cases a year of pit bull attacks that are unprovoked. And that is confirmed pit bulls not the imitation pitbulls. If people only knew what a real pitbull(petbull) looked like we as owners wouldn't have the problems we face with our lovable harmless pets.

This sounds like a very true, and oh so sad, statistic.
The society today has put a lot of stress on both people and animals.Under educated, poor,on drugs, mentally ill and stressed out to the breakingpoint...these are the kind of people who commit the unspeakable crimes you mentioned, but these are not the only ones.well off, highly educated and overachievers also succumb to these hideous acts...so what can we do?
Spread love, teach love, understanding and gentleness towards each other.Help when you see a situation that could turn bad, just step in and do something...
If you hear yelling and screaming and children crying in your neighbors house...do something.Talk to authorities.Offer to help.Do something. You are equally responsible for what may happen if you dont.So DO something.
Pitbulls or other breeds for that matter..dont you think its about the PEOPLE that trained the dogs...or did NOT train them?
Love and compassion is where it all starts.Mutual respect.Whether it is a person,or a dog.
DO something.Something that helps.
We are all responsible......
we are the ones creating this society.

you have a really good point! pitbulls aren't REALLY mean at all! it depends on their owner. my boyfriends sister has a pitbull, and she is the nicest thing in the world. even more kind than my little chinese crested dog lol. and parents that kill their kids are just siiiick. that's so wrong! and to be honest, i've never really heard of a pitbull KILLING a kid..attacking, and injuring yes...hmmh..

Wow. We absolutely must get those parents off those kids and substitute them with pitbulls, pronto.

By the way, did you know that we are still 544 times as likely to get killed by lightning than we are to die through bird flu? Better not go outside...?

Agreed. I learned to walk on my folks Pits. They're wonderful dogs. Punish the deed not the breed...I can't believe all these idiots are subscribing to the crap the media puts out. Honestly that's scary. What if it were my breed some idiot decided was aggressive? One of my idiot friends is convinced that LABRADORS are aggressive! lol I show Labs, they're not aggressive.

You are surprised, Why? There are a lot more crazy parents then there are pit bulls. More kids are mauled by Dalmations then Pit Bulls, each breed has it's own instincts and psychology.

Yes, and you also have a greater chance of getting hit by lightening than mauled by a PB.
