All packaged meats have a 'best before* date on them. Go with that and don't take chances. This date is often about a week hence.
If you are talking about homecooked meat, the same applies. Absolutely!

A sign that meat is reaching that yuck point is the smell, the edges changing colour and often, the consistency of the meat changing as well.. ex. watery or even very dry. It shouldn't get to that point in your home. be attentive to those dates!

Buy it fresh and be careful when you see terrific deals( like now after Christmas) Check the date on the labels. Don't throw away good money on product that will go bad before you can eat it all.

scent it, if it smells like ham than you're maximum in all possibility good. If it has a marvelous or slimy texture on the exterior this is in all possibility in the early tiers of going undesirable. Your physique can take care of lots greater beneficial than you think of, yet once you're annoying than in simple terms do no longer consume it. I used to artwork in a sub shop (no longer subway) and we've been allowed to maintain the ham opened in the refrigerator for as much as two days and unopened for as much as a week.
