If you want visible abs, you really have to lower your body fat % by doing cardio so that you can see the abdominal muscles underneath. It sucks, but it works wonders. Doing crunches every day won't do a whole lot because the fat will probably prevent you from seeing the muscles underneath. It really does depend how much fat is laying across the muscles though. You have given yourself quite a bit of time to do what you want to achieve though, so I have no doubts you can get there.
For cardio, it can be as taking your baby for a walk around the block in a stroller.

Time and again I have answered the same question. However, lemme say it again.
The tummy what u can see on your body is the accumulation of unused calorie or adipose tissues. So, merely doing the sit-ups or crunches will not help you at all.
Your primary aim should be reduce the excess fat in the body. So, you have to adopt a total body work out as there is no spot reduction concept in the modern body building.
So, you please combine cardios and strength training you can get the desired flat six packs with the aid of change in your dietary intake.
You have to concentrate on diet which is less in fat and carbs. You shud give an emphasis on Protein intake.
If you do like to know more about this, please do not hesitate to mail me.
Have a nice day.

Yea, the muscle builds under the fat. Thats why cardio should be combined with weight training gives the best results. Cardio melts the fat, crunches strengthens the muscles.

If you begin doing a set of crunches daily, the muscle will build under the fat. After a few weeks of daily stomach workouts, you should see a difference in your appearance. Eventually, the fat will melt away, but only with consistent exercise.

i started doing crunches about a month ago, up to about 500 per day. i saw visible abs muscles in like two weeks! so it definitely burns fat and builds muscle at the same time
