A futile exercise on vanity, fear of loss and eternity. Hence the need for head stones and tokens of remembrance.

Should everybody suffer from memory loss through time, disease, and other events, creating a similar effect, does that negate your existence ?

I'm not sure what you are asking friends and family alive or friends and family deceased. Well I hope they remember me after I die, dead or alive. Actually no one can actually answer that question ever. Except after you die.

Probably.

How they remember us is up to us, isn't it?

They can remember us as a pain in the butt or as someone who was pretty nice to be around.

I don't know about you but I'd rather be remembered as someone who was nice to be around.

Obviously, you have never had anyone close to you pass on. My mother passed away three years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't think about her.

I hope so. I plan on seeing those who have passed. Our son is missing in Chicago and we hope to see him again, but if we don't here, then I expect to see him waiting for me when my turn comes.
