I went through a similar thing. My 17-year-old Persian had to be put down and my year and a half mixed breed sniffed around for a while. I supposed he was looking for her. Alittle over a month later, we got a mixed breed kitten. They have been like brothers for almost two years now. I'd suggest getting another kitten to keep him company. How old is the cat you have now? When I got my first mixed breed, my Persian, then 15, wouldn't have anything to do with him. It might not be a good idea to get a kitten if there's a big age difference.

Yes,
The cat still believes they are there.. You can't sit a cat down and tell them that there buds are dead the don't understand and never will.. You should get your cat another friend so she isn't so lonely because your cat could get very depressed which wouldn't be good.. Also your cat can still smell them from when they were on you bed and couch so she think there somewhere there hiding or something..
Also I'm sorry for your loss

I think it is definitely possible that your cat remembers these other animals and wonders where they are. Also, she could be lonely and just need another animal to play with. I had 2 cats inside and one of them had to go to the vet and stay about a week...and my other cat cried all the time and walked around "searching"until the other came back home.

Yes, I think your cat misses them. Give her extra love and attention. My mom and I raised two cats together and recently I moved out. I left my cat there for a few weeks so I could get settled and she cried and scratched at my bedroom door the whole time (she tore up the carpet, mom was not happy!). So I go get her and bring her to my new home and she loves it. My mom's cat is much happier too... they like being the only cat.

Hi there...please accept my condolences of the lost of your two other pet family members. This must be a difficult time for you as well as your surviving cat. Your kitty may also be very sensitive to your emotions as well as the fact her two animal companions are missing. Animals do in fact grieve when they lose their companions (humans and animals). I am including a link to a very wonderfully well written Website page about feline grief to help understand your cat's grief as well as help her overcome the loneliness:

Cats have very good memories, they can actually be better than mine or yours. They have to go through a grieving process just like we do... Hive her time, and get her another friend, she's going to be very lonely, and i've seen them pass from this, especially in cases where they were very close. Best wishes, hope this helps, and so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it can be...

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are capable of grieving like we do and picking up on your feelings of grief. Give her alot of attention and that will help.

Of course, she feels the loss of two animals that were around her.
I know a woman who had a bird who died of sorrow once its babies were taken away and sold to other people.
