when your pores are open clean them out with a clay mask and then splash cold water on your face and this should close them up , hot water opens them up

open pores? well, enlarged pores are usually because of excessive oil. but the pores aren't open, in fact they are clogged with debris which traps the oil. normal pores ARE open and enable the skin the breathe, taking in what it needs from the environment and getting rid of waste from the body. the only other kind of "open pore" would be from picking, which can be remedied by STOPPING the picking. to repair the skin, use a salicylic or glycolic acid product that also act as anti-bacterials.
