Not entirely... but I'm always striving towards total satisfaction! I could always be just a little more knowledgeable, after all!
Am I satisfied being an atheist? ABSOLUTELY.

I wonder if anyone is ABSOLUTELY satisfied with their life. I don't believe it has anything to do with being an Atheist or not. So many "labels" have taken on negative connotations over time. One of the problems. What does "Atheist" mean to you, or someone else, or to the Atheist. We really can't get into depth here. I think it would be wonderful to have a diversified group of intelligent, civil persons who could discuss this. Long ago, I saw the most insightful (Bill Mohers (sp)) I think, discussion on TV. So many insights! However, I don't think you should ask Atheists if they're satisfied "..REALLY satisfied" with their lives. The implication is that you doubt they are.

No, I am never satisfied. I will always strive to help and improve this world and it's inhabitants as much as I can, and I do not think that is a job that will be complete in my lifetime.
Could you imagine world peace happening in your lifetime? I can't. But I can't feel completely satisfied with this world until we reach that lofty goal.
Maybe I'm setting my life goals too high, but I don't think it's a bad thing to never give up trying. If I became satisfied, I would stop trying.
So, in conclusion, I am satisfied with my lack of satisfaction. I think constantly trying to help, support, and improve everyone around me is a very good way to live my life.

I think I understand your reasoning. It is always reasonable to ask questions when in doubt or are curious, questioning others honestly and with no ill intent is healthy and I am glad to speak with you.
I am Buddhist. Buddhism does not include a Deity in its ideology and so I suppose that I am therefore categorized as Athiest.
As a Buddhist, the feeling of satisfaction is impermanent as is all human emotion. We humans experience events which are fleeting at best and we feel emotion during the occurance then the event ends, our emotions are therefore always in flux. The feeling of satisfaction results in a level of happiness.
Permanent happiness is the result or consequence if you will of the elimination of suffering. We strive throughout this Life and all of our previous Lives to this end, both for ourselves and ultimately for the benefit of others.
Permanent happiness therefore is the end result.... if you follow.... rather than a present state of being that is.... our present state of being is always variable. That said I can honestly say that I am in fact happy and contented inside.....right now. That will probably change...it generally does....my happiness range is fairly wide though.....and I generally feel good most of the time....
Thank you for asking by the way...I don't know if you're asking from curiosity whether I'm feeling happy or that you're asking whether I'm happy being Buddhist, I'll just assume that its both and in both cases then I am happy at present.
Peace my friend in this season of joy

Absolutely! There is little ambiguity about my life. I understand the hows and whys of my days as well as the places where I need to grow in understanding. Because I challenge myself scientifically on my beliefs, no matter what they are, what remains are very concrete and consistent answers. The recurrent nature of the physical laws and their involvement in our daily lives is both fulfilling in the understanding and constructive in the application. It's like building a house with my life. I think I've gained a clearer understanding of how life in general works by "studying up" as an atheist for this forum than just simply going about a completely non-theistic life.

Satisfied that the universe is mine to explore and understand without anyone telling me what to believe! Satisfied that I am not chained down by specific rules or beliefs, that I am free to learn with my eyes and heart as open as I want them to be, to test out any ideas in any way I want, to never fear believing or not believing some particular thing.
You and I are both atheists, my friend, it's just that I believe in one religion fewer than you. We are both unbelievers! Do you take buddhist, hindu, shinto, muslim beliefs as all real truth? or just your own religion? You probably don't really believe in those religions, just your own. Why is it that you think it is reasonable to expect me to believe in a religion which just happens to be your own, when you yourself are a nonbeliever to so many religions?

I don't think anyone is ever completely satisfied. But I'm content and making every effort to improve myself and help those I can. I can do that without faking belief in a false deity.

I am really satisfied with where I stand on the issue of theism/atheism/agnosticism and such. I am an atheist. I am happy as is.
Am I satisfied with my life? No. I suffer from depression. But this is not relevant to my atheism. Atheists are only human remember.

As an Atheist, I am quite satisfied with my life, but not to the point of complacency: I always strive to make my life and the lives of those around me better, especially when it's me who can make the change.
