Hello Friend =)
Since Yahoo is based in the Republic of California, which, more or less, is part of the United States........
Yes, people do have the "right" to tell you whatever they like.
What they are lacking, however, is the moral authority to do so.
They also lack a certain amount of good manners, as it is impolite to trample the views of others, in their haste to reach the end of the world, but, well, American society has never really been all that polite, now has it??
Namaste, and Happy New Year,
--Tom

I've read it cover to cover over 50 times.. hence, one of the reasons I am a pagan ;)
I've found I know their bible better than most of them, and they'll take "verses" of scripture out of context just to insult you if you disagree with them (see pearls before swine comment.. lol that was about jews and gentiles).. this is why their arguments don't mean anything to me. It gives the majority a bad name when the minority (who will freely admit they've only read it once or twice, but will swear that they consider that their moral authority) try to use it as a weapon against those who do not consider its contents to have authority.
That's what's cool about being pagan.. you can worship YOUR way and isn't it terrific that your worship is accepted and you don't have to worry about some cycle of sin/repentance to please your deities?

Sorry, I'm not into fiction (although I have read it from cover to cover).
It has been translated and re-written and translated and re-written so many times there is no way to prove what the original writing even was. Every translation is an interpretation of what may have been said. People had a totally different way of thinking 2000 years ago and many words had different meaning than they do now.

Good question. Millions of Christians died horrible deaths to have the right to read the bible. Now that they can they don't. And they are not encouraged to do so by their leaders because they might find out the nonsense. And then who keeps the sky pilots in luxury.
BTW: not being a Christian does not make you a pagan. the word comes from the Greek 'Pagano' i.e. peasant.

yes I've read the new testament many times. old testament once, the bible was written by men, men that were inspired by God, some books were left out, but for good reason at least this is the case in the new testament, not sure why the old testament left out some of the Torah, good luck.

I do/have read the Bible. And even though it was written by man, isn't it funny how it has barely changed at all in the last 2000 years? I mean, it was also printed by man, but that doesn't seem to have changed it.
Does this give me the right to ask you to read the Bible?

Read most of it, is pretty scary stuff and you have to be very selective with what verses you read out on Sunday I want to read out the bit in revelation about number of the beast 666 ect but my wife won't let me I reckon it would be good fun to read out some exciting bits for a change it would keep me awake a lot better.

tell you what to do? Like what? tell you to stop, repent, and follow Christ? If that is the case , well, it's not you are a slave to christian people or something. As far as I know, all christians can do is preach,[which by the way they are commanded to do by christ himself in the new testament], it's up to you whether you want to listen to them or ignore them. You can pagan if you want to. It's your life. What's all the fuss?

I myself have read The Bible. I know what it says.
Matthew 7:16
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
The Bible = The pearls
You = The dogs and the swine
So I do not expect you to read The Bible, for your only intention would be to mock it.
