Yes, you are correct. You can shoot either 2-3/4" or 3" shells in your gun.
The 3-1/2" shells can only be be used in receivers marked super magnum.
While the barrel of your gun is capable of shooting 2-3/4", 3", and 3-1/2" shells, your receiver is NOT. As stamped on the barrel, you can only shoot 3-1/2" sheels in receivers marked SUPER MAGNUM. Since you have the EXPRESS MAGNUM, you can only shoot 2-3/4" and 3" shells. Do NOT shoot 3-1/2" shells in your gun, you've received some incorrect answers to this already!

thats wierd that it would show 3.5 on the barrel are you sure you dont have a super magnum? I have an express magnum made 1 year before the super and it shows 2 3/4 and 3" but doesnt show the 3.5 " I think you have an after market barrel on an express receiver check it out closely before shooting 3.5's good luck

If it says 3 1/2 on the barrel, you can use all 3 sizes.

interior the journey that your shotgun isn't chambered for the three.5 inch shell, it gained't chamber in any admire. optimum shotguns, noticeably the Remington 870 (different than for the large-Magnum), have a three inch chamber, and can't chaber the three.5 inch around, plenty much less fire it.

Read the barrel if it doesnt tell you, then take it in to a gunsmith you could end up ruining your firearm or hurting yourself, dont rest your fate on advice from strangers on-line.
