At any given time in history, there are numerous wars and conflicts going on. Currently there are 40+/- conflicts in the world. The only time the WORLD WAR status is attibuted to a war is when the superpowers square off on opposite sides in open declarations of war. We are far from that scenario, altho i agree the spark is there to ignite a larger conflagaration. But for now, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, brinksmanship, sabre rattling and disagreements between rump states.

When the US, Russia and/or China square, then come back and we'll talk WW III. The history books haven't declared the Cold War as WWIII or the current war on terror as WWIV. You'll know when WWIII hits, that burst of EMP will be your first warning....

As Einstein is often quoted as saying, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones.... for WW3 will have knocked us back into the stone age. It's nearly a 100% probability that the next world war will involve nuclear weapons, how could it not when the price for victory will be very high.

You ask whether a third world war will start again....it's not only possible, its probable. In view of the aging Russian early warning systems, a nuclear war could happen at any time. You hear of all the talk about Iran and terrorists getting ahold of a nuke. Little is heard about the two bulls in the glass shop.

The arsenals of the US and Russia are the scary scenarios when you're talking nuclear war. Not so much the US causing it, but mainly from an accidental launch by the Russians thinking that NATO or the US launched against them. It nearly happened in 1995, when the Russian 'suitcase' with the launch codes was activated for the first time in history....and this was in the POST-Cold War!!!

Whats with all the Bible bashers? Armaggedon has already happened. It was a film with Bruce Willis

As far as WW3 happening again i would like to point out the fact I missed it the first time it happened. Anyone got dates for this WW3?

Really though its a bit of a mismatch if its the west vs middle east. The 1000year difference between the west and middle east means it would be more of a larger Iraq as very few countries in the middle east could get an army within a thousand miles of Britain, europe or America.

Chinas probably not that stupid to go against the west and Russia got problems

If you're asking about a single war that encompasses most of the world, I would say no, at least not in most of our lifetimes.

However, I think one could safely say that we are currently seeing a kind of world war right now, except that it consists of several smaller wars taking place at the same time.

A true world war requires one alliance of nations to come together against another alliance -- such as the Axis Powers and the Allies in World War II. Such alliances are unlikely at the current time. Since the U.S. is currently the only nation with the resources for a full-scale and drawn-out war, any other nation with which we might ally would have to fight by out rules. That is not likely to happen any time soon.

It is very possible. But not from the current war. This stupidity is still going on because of flawed tactics. I am not interested in freeing the world. I am interested in retaliation against the people who planned and carried out 9/11 and every one who supported it in their corner of the world. No one likes that kind of language in Washington DC, especially not even the idea of restoring the draft. Everyone wants to liberate the Arab world. The problem is they ain't interested in our idea of freedom. Iran and their nuclear program. Stop talking with them and hit every facility we can identify from the air. Start bombing Tehran. Around the clock. Threaten a nuclear strike if they don't abandon it. See what happens. We could put several carriers in the Persian Gulf to enforce this. We could put a bunch of nuclear subs in to carry out the second half. Fly B-52's from Louisiana. B-1 bombers from west Texas. See how far they would be willing to go under unrestrained air attack. The same rule applies to North Korea. Why do we talk to these half pints at all?

YES!! And Iran is the Germany of World War 3!
Iran's intention is to get rid of Western Civilization because they said that there was a mistake 1000 years ago when the west rose to power. I think it started when SPAIN discovered America.
But anyways I think the middle east is getting real tired of the US trying to be the police of the world, just like everybody else.

We're already in World War 3. The missile crisis with N. Korea, the war in Afghanistan, and Iraq. Arab terrorists all over the world

Did I miss something? What do you mean "start again"?

Yes there will be another world war and while it's going on people will be marrying and giving in marriage. Life goes on. It's in the bible.

Yes, but that is the battle of Armageddon. When Jesus and the devil fight. I know it sounds like a fantasy book, but get into Revalations in your Bible, and start readin! It's actually a very mystical sounded chapter :) Aw some!

Yes, absolutely. It will one day, won't it? But if you mean soon, I think so. All the major world powers love bloodshed and war. They are thirsty for it. And you can sense that, too.
