I have 1.5 lbs of beef stew (more or less)
cumin
oregano
chili powder
bell pepper
onion
garlic cloves
tomatoes and green chilies
but all the recipes I find call for 3 lbs of stew meat and the seasoning to match, and I don't know how much spices to use with my 1.5lbs of meat.....or how long to cook it for??

here's a couple recipes for you i hope this helps and it finds it's way to your best answer. if you're only using halp the meat of the normal recipe you would want to cut your ingredients in half. good luck to you.

Rick's Crockpot Carne Guisada

One of my favorite Mexican dishes is carne guisada. I combined parts of several recipes and adapted a bit for crockpot cooking. The family likes it even though they always say it's a little spicy.

Since 1.5 lbs is half of 3 lbs just cut your spices in half.Cook your meat on high for 6 hrs or low for 12 hrs. Just check to see that you keep enough water in there to keep everything moist. Is Carne Asada different than Carne Guisada?
