According to the almost universally accepted Body Mass Index (BMI) chart, your BMI is 21.2. That is considered a HEALTHY weight for your height. Not that the chart is perfect; the one I used doesn't make any adjustments for whether you're calculating the weight of a male or female body. But still, I'm positive that your weight is FINE. :)

You're going to keep growing for at least a few more years anyway, so if you remain at 116 pounds but grow a few more inches, you'll actually be UNDERWEIGHT. And weighing too little can be unhealthy too. Of course, weighing too much is worse, but as someone who is almost underweight myself (due to a metabolic problem), I know about this stuff.

As for looking in the mirror and feeling like you look fat, please consider you might be developing anorexia. Or you might NOT. After all, not every teen girl who feels she's "fat" goes on to develop the psychological disorder of anorexia. I used to feel I was overweight, and I actually DID go thru a somewhat "chunky" phase, but my dislike of my body never escalated to anorexia. However, you're not chunky at all, so if you feel that you are, I hope you might consider talking about it with a family member you like and trust, or your doctor, or a school nurse, or even your favorite female teacher. All of these folks can probably offer at least some helpful advice. :) Good luck!!

no you do not weigh too much at being 13 years of age, and 5'2" tall. But since you are being told that you look reall skinny to every one you know, but when you look into the mirror you feel really fat. Well lets say you are starting to get an eating disorder. Before it gets any worse have a talk with your parents, and see if they will let you see a professional to stop you from thinking that when you look in the mirror you are over weight, cause it is a lot better right now to catch it, then let it get to a place where you are eating and then throwing that up, cause you don't want to get fat, and you think you are fat, then from there, you will just quit eating at all, then you are in real big trouble. You are young, and you still have a lot of time to grow in heigth yet, so what if you eat junk food every once in a while. You are pretty young to be eating diet food all of the time. That shows that their is a problem too. Cause if you live right, and get out, and do things, you should be able to enjoy normal food as long as you don't go on an eating bunge all of the time. Then you might be gaining more weight then you should, but right now i would have to agree that you proably look really thin to most people that you meant. And if you don't quit looking in that mirror and telling yourslef that you are over weight, you are going to have one heck of a fight, just trying to see that you are way to underweight, and that you will proably end up in a hospital, where they will not let you go to the bathroom or your room alone with out staff for a few hours after you have eaten to make sure that you are not throwing up your food. Pearching is what they call it. Then if you get worse then that , well you will be having a cup of ice with you ever where you go, so that you get something in you to keep you alive. And usually even those people you see crying cause they do not want to have to eat the ice, cause they are afraid that will make them fat, and they still see themselfs as fat, even though they look hollow all over, like they have wasted away. They also shrink all of their organs, that you can not get to unshrink, so if you are thinking that you are feeling fat when you look in the mirror, and everyone else tells you how skinny you are, well you need to go right now young lady and get some real professional help before it gets any worse. And don't think you can out smart the professionals, cause they write down how much you eat, and what you eat while in the hospital, and if you can't well there you stay til you can. So go and get help, and don't become one of the millions that have that eating disorder, and quit eating, you are young , and have a life ahead of you. So look forward to it, and look forward to it being a fun time in your life, not one that you are fighting for your life, even though you think they are wrong and you are fat, and you are just a bag of bones walking around, that could break any moment now. So please talk with your parents and see about getting help for this eating disorder before it gets any more out of control......

Hope you can have a Happy Hoildays.

You are not fat. But at 5'2 I would say that you could be skinnier. Probably jog more or eat healthier foods not just diet foods. Add in more vegetables and fruits. Drink 8 cups of water a day because that helps maintain your weight.

No, you're fine. It's all in your head. I guess that's why you put this under mental health. Look, everybody thinks they're fat. Why do you think morons like Nicole Ritchie starves herself? If your friends say you're skinny, you might want to indulge just a little on the junk food.
