I think that in their advertisement they state that you can lose up to 6 pounds in a certain amount of time if you replace 2 meals with special K and use nonfat milk. :)

NO! That is false advertising. Animal products are VERY high in fat content. It would be better to use soy or almond milk if you want to take special k cereal. However, losing weight is a combined effort of a good diet and cardiovascular activity. No pill or special product will in itself work for you. Eat a lot of small meals and eat healty foods whole grains and lot's of fresh veggies and fruits. Also be sure to drink at least 1 gallon of water a day and walk!

Whole milk has 3,5% in fats. Not a lot but it can have an impact if you are trying to loose weight.
On the other hand, if you cut on whole milk but eat fried foods, that doesn't make sense.
Don't leave out what you like, just resize the portions. I never take chocolate or whole milk out of my diet, but I eat smaller portions and I cut on junk food.

I don't know what else you are eating, but regular milk has more calories as well as more fat than skim milk. So, you'd be adding calories...

Losing weight is a simple matter of calories in versus calories out. If you expend more calories than you intake, you will lose weight, be it muscle, water, or fat. General health is another thing (cholesterol, sodium, etc.).
