When people die in the house do there souls stay in the house, because like a few nights ago I heard steps on my staircase and today am like um. . . hearing sound again and am freaking scared! can someone plz help me i can't even sleep and i called my cousins over cause if it. P.S- Please hurry !

Good question, and actually no one had to die in your house. If there was a house there, and it was moved and another one build in it stop, the poeple that lived there, that might not of passed over yet, might of gotten pissed , cause they moved or ripped down their house to build another one. Or it could be build on an old indian scaret grounds, or anything. Or it could just be the fact that you are 13 years old in a house that you do not know well yet. And seeing all the storys they show on tv, it might just of freaked you out. In the 50 's houses were not build that well, heck you can still find houses that they should find out who build the places and make them redo them. Some times it is just the steading of old wood, or beams in the house. Lot of times those places just had newspaper put in the walls for insultion. So yea, you would hear sounds, of an older house, heck you still hear sounds of a newer house that has actually been build worse then the older one had been. So you did the right thing, you got intouch with your cousin and had him/her come over and stay with you. It is much more comforting when their is more then one young person in the house. You don't really worry as much, and you can just laugh at it when you get older. There are so many things that can make sounds that you think are like foot steps and that. I am not saying ghost and spirts do not exsect cause i know they do. But just by the way you wrote this it just sounds like an older home that needs some work done on the stairs, and other parts of the house. So i hope you and you cousins are all sleeping now, and not to worry about ghost for the night. Get some good sleep, cause the more you think about this the more it is going to bother you, so try to remember that you have been told no one has died there, so their must not be any ghotos there.
So it is proably just the sound of the old wood, and that still steading in. Get some sleep, and you will see thing s should be better in the morning. Don't forget to thank your cousins for coming over and staying the night with you.......have a happy hoilday........ try not to worry it just makes things seems more bigger, and scarier.

An interesting question, and not one that anyone can actually answer.
What are your spiritual beliefs?
Some believe that the soul goes to heaven or hell after the body dies. Others believe that the soul becomes a part of energy in the world, others believe our soul dies with us.
If you are one that believes that 'ghosts' exist, then typically a ghost only remains if there is unfinished business. A ghost was once a person. If you believe further, there are things called 'familiars' and you are getting into the spiritual realm associated with satan.
But what you are most likely hearing is simply settling of the house, probably caused by the weather changes, and nothing to worry about. When we are under stress, we can hear all sorts of things that we didn't pay attention to before. A death in the family is stressful.

When people die, their souls are in God's hands for safekeeping until the Resurrection. The Bible plainly says the dead know nothing. You maybe reacting to some grief due to the loss of a loved one and just over react. And maybe you watch too many movies about ghosts and spirits. Believe me, you are safe. Just believe in God's word and you will be ok. Read your Bible about what it says about dying and death. And think about this, why would a soul want to stay around this earth. Heaven is a much better place to be. Remember there is no fear when God is near.

Nothing could possibly explain if spirits dwell in houses when they die
I myself, don't believe in such things....
Calm down
You see
Sometimes, seeing or hearing spirits is psychological
If you think you would see one, definitely you would see one
So it's better to set yourmind into something else than keep thinking there are spirits around...
Sometimes our mind plays tricks on us
Must've been too much horror movies
Consider some of these:
Maybe those are just rats/mice etcetera...
Maybe one of the people in your house just went down to take a peak downstairs
Don't let fear get to you

Don't be afraid... you don't have souls or ghosts roaming about your home. Did you ask your family about the sounds? Maybe a family member was walking up the steps?
Homes make many noises and all sorts of them... creaks, older homes especially. The furnace makes noises. Water pipes,
So you just get your sleep, nothing is going to happen.

Well, I don't know for certain, but it's possible that energies can stay in the house and that souls can linger. But think about it. If the person who passed away never tried to harm you in life, why should you be afraid now that they've passed on? If you feel that it is the soul of a loved one who's passed on, just ask them to either move on beyond the veil or to please be quiet because you need some sleep! If you can hear them, they should be able to hear you!

well it is likely because maybe they ae hungry spirits and there souls don't go away because they have unfinished buisness go to a church and get holly water and come home put holly water in every cornor even outside in the rooms everywhere and while you are doing it pray hen get cloves of garlic and put one in the cornor of each window so pretty much 2 then every night pray and keep a cross next to you and a bible open on the night stand don't worry we had the same problem but if it doesn't go away call a minister and have him come over and u know if it continues well move out because it is the only choice you have i hope it works

Spirits feed off your emotions. Just chill and dis-miss them and they'll get bored and go away. It really is that simple. I bless houses and I usually spend
half the time blessing it and the other half calming peoples emotions.

After people are die if they like that place very mush and can not go without it they stay in the house... But don't worry they cannot heart you.. If you are scared pray for it... (as you religion ) and ask them to go from this please.. If you know the man who has die keep talking with him..Specially good things about him. Good luck...
