I keep hearing about a fence being built along the US/Mexico border, set up with survallience and everything. Is this a huge media joke, or is it really in the works? My opinion is: we seriously, and truly need one built! It should be 6 feet deep and 15 feet high, set up with razor wire atop!

The U.S. House & Senate have approved funding for such a fence. Control of the House & Senate change to Democratic on January 20. Hearings will take place soon thereafter on the need for such a fence. The fence construction budget is subject to continuing approval by the House, which can reverse approval.

We have one. We just extending the fence to cover more of the border. There is a fight in Indian land, I believe by the apache. There are some Indians who migrates from U.S. to Mexico. According to our law we have to let them do it, since the boarder cuts their homland in half and they are a migratory tribe. They are preventing the fence to cover the entire US-Mexican border. The irony is two of the companies building these fences were caught using illegal immigrants to build the fence. The owner is probably going to do jail time on this.

Contrary to popular opinion, unless one wishes to be an "island" diplomacy makes better neighbors than "good fences".

We need not keep people out. We need to KNOW who is coming in. We need sensible reform of immigration policy. We need to fully fund the Border Patrol. We do NOT NEED new immigration Law, we need to fund and inforce existing law.

If we were not spending billions (much of which is unaccounted for) ((all of which was "no bid" contracts)), we could actually afford real "homeland security".

Blu has it right, except that I think the transfer to Democrats' control is January 1 (Blu refers to January 20, which is the date when the President is inaugurated every fourth year).

Yes we really are, if the Democrats don"t interfere and stop the funding. Email your representatives and let them know you want the fence!
