Alot of bad since prayer has left in 1962.

Teenage pregnancy rates have gone up 500% since 1962. Unmarried mothers have risen dramatically since 1962. The divorce Rate is so high that many young children don't really understand what a family is. Violent Crimes have risen steadily since the early 60's, and our prison system is bursting at the seams.

The SAT scores have steadily declined each year for 18 straight years since 1962 and continue to decline or be low. As the poorly educated enter the workforce how can our companies compete with other international industries?

Sadly, this is society's fate. Society and the world as a whole will never even begin to come closer to God, instead it's stuck in a downward spiral that ultimatlely leads to its destruction. If you think it's bad now, just wait another 30 years.

This is a great question, if you assume that the premise is true. I would ask you to consider that in areas of high incidence of poverty, your list of top 7 problems from 1990 have always been a problem for the young. Let's look at it on a topic by topic basis:

1. Drug Use -- This has always been a problem, but I would point out that it was only during the 50's and 60's that many drugs actually became criminalized. Improvements in farming, communication, and transportation have also made it possible to produce a wider array of high quality drugs, making them much more accessible.

2. Alcohol Abuse -- Drinking is a perennial issue for the young. Obviously you don't know many people who lived in the 50's. Many of those I've talked to describe driving out to the cornfields to party with friends and get drunk. In the cities, I have to imagine that alcohol was more accessible and young people drinking was probably more acceptable (if you consider the European cultures that were present).

3. Pregnancy -- Here's one that I might tend to agree with you on. It happened, though much more rarely. Honestly, I don't think this had so much to do with God. I think it had to do largely with the idea that a woman didn't want to be seen as a whore or have a tarnished reputation. Honor-based morality, at least as applied to sexual expression, is not the way to go in my book.

4. Suicide -- Also occurred, though far less, and probably has something to do with the downfall of God in society. I'll give you this one. People aren't afraid that they're going to suffer in hell for eternity for killing themselves. Personally, I think that the upswing also has to do with the self-indulgent, pampering society that has replaced the previous Christian one. I agree, that probably has to go, too.

5. Rape -- This also probably happened, though we'll never know. Why? People were still horny back in the day, men still felt entitled to do what they wanted (even more so). But women didn't talk about this because of what I mentioned under three - you don't want to tarnish your reputation. Victims get blamed for rape all of the time. Even more so back then.

6 & 7. Robbery and assault -- Dude, poor kids have been robbing people for a long, long time. Haven't you read any Dickens?

All the best,

Laz

Not a good way to make your point because, the death toll from killing in the name of God has never ceased either. The more religion (there are now over 1500 sects who can't agree on God) the worse the sectarian genocide gets. Never forget that 9/11 was the result of Jihad (killing in the name of God). You will never have world peace as long as you have religions who can't agree on God and He never gets involved.with religion conflict.

Yes people will get to think for them selfs. I think your analysis is laughable. Its like saying the Cold war ended because we started eating more meat. One has nothing to due with the other.

Do you see a society that is 100% based on God as positive?

Yeah yeah, all the bad things that happen are actually because we made prayer in school illegal. It's all because of that.

WOW

So much for research and science. We can just assume things and all will be good. We don't even have to think for ourselves; a book will do it for us.

And, in that time, human slavery has been declared illegal in every country in the world and child labor laws have been strengthened. These are also due to G-d being taken out of school.

You can't have the good without the bad hunny bunny.

Apparently science was not your strong suit in school. God doesn't belong in government or public education.

Yes, and this OBVIOUSLY is the direct result of "taking god out of school". Yep, 1:1 correlation. Cause and effect. I'm sure of it.

God was never in society, therefore it couldn't have been taken out.

So much for omnipresence.
