Let me cut to the chase.
I'm 17. I've never had a boyfriend, not because no one wants me to go out with them, but because I choose not to have a boyfriend. My family is very good friends with my best friend's family, and I have grown to love being with them. Our families always do things together. Ok, here's the "problem".
I hopelessly admire my best friend's brother. It's so easy to talk to him, our families being close, and yet... I've been freaking out a little lately. I've developed these feelings, and I honestly can't say I've felt like this before. I've only told my best friend and "HIS" best friend that I'm crushing on this guy.... my best friends brother.
They both say that there's possiblities. They say "HE" never tells anyone what girl he likes. Truly, it's a mystery, because no one knows who "HE" likes.
It's so natural to talk to "HIM". I really love him as a brother, but I wish someday we could be more. I tried to dismiss these feelings, but they came back.

He's 14.

Lol ok, I'm definetly NOT considering dating right now, or even... letting him know I like him. Dude, I'm 17. I'm not doing a relationship with a 14 year old! Please people, I know. I just... wanted to know if it was... well...weird I guess. I dunno, it takes alot for me to like a guy. I'm not easy like that. I try to live life without jumping from crush to crush. This really took me by suprise. That's what I like about him. He's the unknown. The suprise.

Oh, and, my friend teases me about it ( in the secrets of friendship of course!), and well... yeah I know her well enough. She's not one to get mad about that kind of thing.

Its fine to crush on someone younger. Try to find out more info on him and make sure he doesn't have a girlfriend or anything. Ask his sister to help you out with finding out info. Ask her to talk to him and see what he thinks. Make sure its ok with his sister also. Well good luck!!

try it. the family thing is weird but they may understand. keep it quiet at first and slowly let them see whats going on. just keep things slow at first. then gradually bring things in the open and discuss it with the families. let them know how things are and what you are looking at and tell them how you feel. if the families are as close as you say things should be cool

your 17 and he's 14?? that a little overboard because your still young. you still have your life in front of you and besides its technically statutory rape if you mess with him in most states. but basically talk to him, don't be shy. life is a learning experience so do what you think is best. but i would say no

you're too close to this person to have a relationship with him. your families are too close for you to have a relationship with him
and your best friend wont appreciate you dating her brother.

its not about him being younger. its that it wont work. your letting yourself have these feelings because you think hes the only one that might go out with you. there are other guys out there. you dont have to settle. going out with this guy would be disaster waiting to happen.
