May be you are right because most of the American places named after places outside America.
Most of the westerns think that New Delhi is in India and they don’t even know where is the main city of Delhi. The main city of Delhi is in the Northern part of NCT of Delhi in India formerly known as Old Delhi and Shahjahanabad and New Delhi is a Southern city in NCT of Delhi.
