It depends on what your goals are of course. Most of the time I just seriously reduce my intake of refined sugar and starches to maintain now. But when I wanted to loose weight I targeted 20 to 30 net carbs a day (that is total crbs - fiber carbs and sugar alchol carbs) -

really now I just kind of have a list i my head of foods I do and do not eat, and make the most sensible choices from the menu's offered. here is the strictter list of foods for induction. there is a lot of great info on the sites below.

Eat low-glycemic. It's the diet that people with Type 2 Diabetes follow to manage blood sugar.
