How can i drink and not turn red?

I have really low tolerance and everytime i drink a little bit i always get really red. Is there any way i can drink and keep from turning red?

A couple other people asked if you were Asian. If you are it is important for you to know that about 50% of all people of Asian descent show low levels of one of the enzymes that normally breaks down alcohol in the liver. Alcohol metabolites tend to build up in the blood, producing a faster heart rate, facial flushing, and nausea. This can making drinking very unpleasant.

I can't help wondering if you have Rosacea ("rose A shaw"), like I do.

Rosacea causes the fine blood vessels in the face to dilate and flush the skin bright red when you drink alcohol, or exercise, or eat certain spicy foods, or suffer stress.

In later stages, it will cause a kind of acne that tends to be localized (for example, it loves the crease of your nose, or that special spot on your chin), and the texture of the skin gradually coarsens.

Because Rosacea affects people with fair skin more frequently than others, it's sometimes called the Curse of the Celts (you know, Irish, English and Scots).

A dermatologist is your best friend, if you have Rosacea. I've been treating mine for a year, and I have a much improved complexion; no breakouts, and very little flushing red.

In the meantime, learn to carefully make up your face (the nose, especially) with a good foundation. Good luck!

I am Asian like the other guy. 50% of all asian is missing an enzyme that helps digest alcohol. The problem is less evident in caucasians. For some reason I seem to handle cheap Vodka better than beer.
