I would recommend that your actually purchase a new copy, there are many reasons why. Microsoft spend money developing Windows (Vista cost a reported 10 Billion Pounds), why should you get a product for nothing? Also if you download an illegal copy of windows Microsoft will know, since every copy has a unique product key, by using a illegal copy, Microsoft will deny you essential updates, therefore putting your computer at risk. Also how do you know that you are downloading windows from a p2p site, it could be virus's, or anything else.

It will fit inside 1 CD, so should not be anywhere over 500MB. Meanwhile, have you checked out Vista yet? It is the 2007 OS! But it will take at least 3GB to burn into a DVD. Good luck finding the product key for that.

so? still doesn't mean you download it illegally
call/contact microsoft . if you registered it and have a working serial number, provide them with it and they can replace any discs you need for a nominal fee.
http://support.microsoft.com
If youre computer was made by Dell, HP or the other computer manufacturers, you can also go through their support for replacement discs.
