"Seeing" is relative. Blind people cannot see, even in their dreams AS SIGHTED PEOPLE DO. However, it is a known fact that when, for instance, you hear things in your dreams, the audio cortex of your brain is stimulated. In other words, your brain treats sounds in your dreams the same way it treats sounds when you are awake. having said that, try to imagine this -- even a person blind from birth has some sense of shape and even colour. Red, for example, feels warmer to the touch than a very light blue. Sunlight feels warmer than moonlight. So, in a way, blind people do have some sense of shape and colour. It is very unlikely that their ideas of shape and colour will be even remotely close to yours. But they do have it all the same. So, it would be impossible to say whether they "see" anything in their dreams. Certainly, they don't see in THE SAME WAY AS WE DO. But does that mean they don't see at all? I don't think so.

of course they have dreams! thats the brains way of filtering through the information its aquired through out the day.
it may not be visible though. it could be just voices or 'smells'. But to think that blind people dont have dreams would be the same asking if deaf people have dreams.

It depends on whether they ever had sight. If they havent, then the part of the brain that develops to "process vision" never developes in them - they dont see in dreams either. People who have lost thier sight but did have sight sometimes see dreams - tho they sometimes stop.

I don't think so.
I'm sure that they have dreams, but our dreams our based off of past experiences or present troubles. Their brains wouldn't know what to see or hear in their dream! ...unless, of course, they weren't blind or deaf all their lives.

I have often wondered that myself, but even if they did, what would they be seeing? They couldn't describe it because they wouldn't even know what it was.
