This label is arbitrary, subjective, and unproven. Ask to see the lab results. There won't be any.

If this is about a child, consider whether the behavior is simply "being a child" (see "The CHILD Disorder" at http://www.naturalchild.org/jan_hunt/child_disorder.html . If the behavior is more extreme, look instead into possible food allergies (especially food colors), lack of sleep, stress, harsh discipline etc.

I'm 34 years old and have had ADHD (not ADD) since I was a child. There is no cure for ADHD, the medication simply relieves symptoms for a short period of time. If I miss a dose of my medication everyone around can tell. I lose things, become loud, impulsive and tend to jump off furniture. I don't know how long I will need to take medication and I really don't like to but I know I wouldn't be able to function as a professional if I didn't take it.

Yes, medicine is very very necessary for adhd. Because my nephew has adhd and when my brother took him off of it he was so out of control. It was just crazy. Then when he put him back on it. I really could see a big difference. So i hope i answered your question.

ADHD is not cureable. When you take medication it merely helps you with the symptoms it causes. Yes you can tell if a medication is working or not on an ADD/ADHD person. My son has ADD and I could always tell when he had not taken his medication.

I had ADD, and the right diet and supplements did it for me. Didn't use medicine. I suggest you watch a documentary called "Super Size Me" it gives you an idea of the importance of the right vs. the wrong diet.
