You have to get rid of the odor in the carpet. If a dog pees in the house, unless you use the right deodorizer to get rid of the urine, he will continue to go in the house. Get the enzyme deodorizer at the pet store and use it every where he has peed. If you have not kennel trained him, continue to take him out. If after the carpets/floors or clean, he still pees in the house immediately rub his nose in it, beat his little butt and take him outside.

First off the breed and a little history would help. I had a very hard time potty training my dog - but I found a few tricks. First - if she didn't go when outside she had to go in her kennel. No freedom till she pees outside. Second, I noticed she loved to play fetch. So we hit a tennis ball around for a few minutes. Mostly it doesn't take long and she just goes on her own. if you aren't walking your dogs - you should start. All dogs need to walk. They need the stimulation of the smells and the work out. They have energy that needs to get out of their system. Maybe the ball will help. Is your dog fixed? Male dogs mark their spots. And it seems like he is doing that where your older one goes. The pup needs his own area, walks, games, and a kennel. These things should work!

yes the bad part of having a puppy. mine would pee and poop all indoors but did not wont to outside. if you have hardwood floors be careful cause the pee will make it mold and you will have serious issues then. try urine gone spray to kill the pee smell, cause if the pet smells the poop or pee smell where they have when before they will continue to go there.good luck.

The joys of owning a puppy!!! You need to tell him "no" and then pick him back up and take him back outside. This is just the joys of training a puppy. Even though it's annoying for you, he's still a baby and needs the corrections so he learns. Just know, it's not forever :o) (you hope!)

Lol...same thing with my dog..but he pees outside but he still does it in the house. Maybe try cage training him..or put peeing pads so it won't mess up the carpet or furniture.

You should keep him out there till he goes. even if it takes an hour. Then praise him with love and a treat. He should finally get the idea that he needs to go out there. ooh, and don't forget to scold him when he goes in the house, and throw him back outside.
good luck

Try taking him for a longer walk. Are you crate training? If so put him back in the crate as soon as you get in the house then take him out again in an hour. Good Luck

Oh that is to bad, give him time. From your response to my question your not very patient or open minded. Dogs need time to smell and find their place to go. But that is just my opinion, my dog goes fine outside, and that comes from a "druggie" as you put it. Thanks I want to let you know your answer to my question re: no insurance was so helpful, I feel so much better now. Yes, my 90 year old grandma is a big druggie, please!!!
