Yes. You can join the Army National Guard (one weekend a month, two weeks a year after Basic and AIT) or the Reserves for any of the branches of the military, but you could be called to active duty. Well, the reserves kinda fit that description, but sounds more like you're talking about civilian employment. Yes, you can, the military has a VERY large civilian work force.
