You are stressed- which causes a chemical reaction in your body that causes you to gain weight just looking at a cookie- seriously- it releases cortisol and it messes up your hormone levels-
you're not eating the right foods--- you need protein #1 and that could be good cheeses, eggbeaters, almonds, nuts, definitely fish and chicken-- good veggies- no breaded or fried, fresh is better and salad with you favorite dressing on the side and "dip" you lettuce and veggies in it. For a snack always have cut up celery and carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, etc- make a dip consisting of garlic salt, fresh dill seed and fat free sour cream- it's yummy, lasts pretty long in the fridge and you dont' need a lot on the veggies to give it zing because of the dill
stay away from all bad starches, bread, potatoes, rice and goodies. Without any exercise I will bet you in 30 days you will lose at least 5 lbs-- oh, no soda or sugared drinks, at least 8 glasses of water or drink with sugar free substitute - like crystal light
Also yogurt is good - look for nonfat low carb--- women need so much more calcium and dont forget to drink at least 2 glasses of 8 oz of milk a day one for breakfast- in your Kashi cereal or oatmeal and 1 at night with sfree hot chocolate mix--- see I got the chocolate in there for you... I didn't want you to go into withdrawal---- good luck to you--- e mail me and let me know how you're doing- by the way- I lost 90 lbs doing this

For one you are not eating healthy. Cookies that along can
definitely make you gain weight especially if you eat a lot of them
at one sitting.
Please eat something for breakfast, like a bowl of oatmeal,
or an egg, juice. Don't eat a big lunch, maybe a salad.
you can have several snacks a day, but make it fruit. No candies,
no cookes or cakes.
You are also stressed out with your parents divorcing. Please
remember they both still love you and the divorce had nothing
to do with you. People change when theyget older OK dear.
Just eat about six small meals a day consisting of healthy
foods. God Bless.

Yup. It could be. It's a biological reaction from way back in evolution.
When there is a shortage of food a person needs a lot of fat stored in their body to survive. Your body knows whether or not there's a shortage of food by how much goes in the belly every day.
So in your case your body thinks that food is not plentiful right now. So instead of taking the food that you're eating and using it as energy, it is taking the food and storing it as fat in order to protect you when the "famine" comes.
My suggestion would be to go back to eating regularly throughout the day. Make sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and make sure you're getting enough protein. Also if you don't exercise right now you might want to start by walking every day or something like that.
This will slowly help you get back to having a healthy body because you will be giving your body enough nutrition to live.
Hope this helps! :)

This is very true. It has been a while since it has been discovered that a body has a memory and if you skip meals and don't eat for many hours, the body remembers it for the future and prepares it for such a schedule by storing fat and slowing down your metabolism. The uniform advice of professionals, to have more smaller meals throughout the day is the correct one and if you adopt it, it will adjust your metabolism in a relatively short time and will make you go back to burning energy at a higher rate of speed.
Thanks.

In fact it probably is just that. Not eating enough is going to slow down your metabolism, make you lose lean muscle mass and will ultimately make you bigger, which you don't want.
Having breakfast though is where you must start. If it means waking up earlier to get it, then that's something you'll just have to do. Also stay away from the milk and cookies and go for the low-fat yogurt or whole wheat bread with low fat peanut butter.
My take-away tips for you would be to eat small meals but often. Make sure that you have protein with every meal.
Stick to fruits for snacks and nothing else.
Drink water and not juices or soda.

YES! Not only eating unhealthy foods - but not eating on a regular basis. Your body realizes that you aren't feeding it, so natural instinct kicks in to protect vital organ functions. This takes place by reserving the fat cells in your body - thus causing a person to remain at the same weight and more often gain weight. Don't skip meals, maybe just eat a little less and a well balanced meal.

Actually skipping meals puts your body in survival mode. Basically you body will hold on to as much calories as it can thinking that your starving. The best thing to do is watch what you eat, eliminate processed foods, they tend to be high in sugars. Read labels, if your caloric intake is higher than your output then you will gain weight. Also you might be stressing or going into depression, weight gain can be associated with both conditions. Best way to stave off depression is get out be active, and talk with someone to let out your real feelings. Don't let depression get you, it can be hard to come out of without professional help.

Yes, defintely. When you don't eat regularly, your metabolism will slow way down because it will get the impression that it is starving. This is a survive mechanism that was good during the ancient times when food was not available, but today, it is worthless. Eat when your hungry and stop when you've had enough and DO NOT skip meals! Not eating can mean loss of muscle tissue (including heart muscle). And muscle is the bulk of our energy needs (calories)
I wish the best for you and your family

Skipping nutrition does not make yuo benefit weight, even nonetheless it does not enhance weightloss. Breakfast is the main serious meal to the physique, as long as this is nutritional and healthful. once you awaken in the morning your physique ought to be re energized, eating kickstarts your metabolism for the the remainder of the day, advertising power and a healthful fat burner. You tend to think of greater effectual, and concentration greater effectual once you'be eaten a healthful breakfast. i replaced into bulimic a pair of three hundred and sixty 5 days in the past and bulimic and aneorexic human beings drop some pounds very quickly becuase they are dropping distinctive water weight and muscle. no longer eating in any respect will starve your physique into employing up each and every thing it could, such with the aid of fact the fat. yet once you're in simple terms skipping the main serious meal of the day, it is not healthful. I nonetheless get in hardship for no longer eating adequate, no i'm no longer skinny. i'm greater healthful, yet i've got not got a large self image, making me consume much less without questioning abuot it. For breakfast I in simple terms grab a protein bar (it incredibly is chocolate, and who does not love chocolate in the morning?) and an orang, or strawberrid, any fruit. this does not sound like lots, even nonetheless it incredibly is going to a minimum of energize your physique, and speed up your metabolism. wish this facilitates. And it is not important in case you're skinny or no longer, consume your breakfast!

Yes. For sure. Think of your stomach as a furnice and food as coal. When you eat food you put the coal in the furnice and stoak up the flames (caleries burning away) ... but if you wait too long the coals die out/burn off and the fire dies. If you then pile coals on it, it just piles up and does not catch on fire and burn. It's better to eat 5 small meals a day (or eat every 3 or 4 hours) and keep the fire (your metabolism) stoaked, then to go long periods of time with no food at all.
