I was an exchange student in Stockton but after 5 months I returned back to my own country. Before I applied for a student visa before, our family is already a holder of a US tourist visa. I just want to know if I will be allowed to visit the US again for a vacation within 2 yrs as a tourist together with my family. Just confuse with that ruling of 2 year home residency rule. thanks.

The two-year residency rule only applies to you if you were sponsored by either the US or your own government. And it only applies to you if your J-1 visa is annotated with "Two year rule does apply."

Even if the rule does apply to you, you can still travel to the US as a tourist. It just means that you cannot work in or immigrate to the US for two years after your program concludes.

i understand all with reference to the J1 visa and its regulations by using fact I married somebody who got here to the u . s . a . on a J1 visa with a 2 12 months domicile rule. even although i'm a US citizen and now pregnant, the U. S. immigration government refused to overturn the restrict after appealing for 2 years. somewhat, in case you word for F1 and H1 visas, that's achievable that the immigration government will furnish you the visa even although you nevertheless have an stunning time served on the domicile rule. it somewhat is by using fact maximum of people word for those visas that that's impossible for immigration to verify by way of all of the papers. however, in case you ever intend to word for a green card then immigration will maximum definately look extra into your application and detect your J1visa restrict. in case you're granted a H1 visa, you have not have been given any problems with vacationing exterior the country provided the visa is valid. yet undergo in suggestions which you will nevertheless be subject to domicile rule finally.
