Are Torontonians miffed that soon the CN Tower will lose teh title of tallest freestanding structure in the world with UAE's Burj Dubai?

i used to live in Toronto and i just adore that tower.
anyone been up there?

and also, do you think it would be nice if the downtown core of Toronto erected the "tallest building in the world"? or would it ruin the skyline?

I was born in Toronto but have since moved to another province. As for the CN Tower losing its title soon. No biggie! It had a great run with the title and progress has to be made. I don't know if any of the 'new' buildings will retain the title for as long though. Because corporations will be trying to outdo one and other with a larger building.
The CN Tower will always be a pilar of CANADIAN engineering and vision.
Besides, you won't see the other taller buildings from the CN Tower! Then again maybe you might ...

I don't think Toronto should bother trying to have "the tallest building in the world" more important things to focus on... i.e. social programs, day-to-day city management, policing, and all the other goodies that come with any city.

It's too bad now I see you answered my question in return (thank you) and chose to mock instead.
