There's this girl at my high school that I've known for about 5 months now. When we pass in the halls, she shows an interest in what's happening in my life. If we're on the same team in gym, she talks about "girl issues" and when we run and none of her girlfriends are there, she runs with me and we talk. But about two months ago, she warned me not to get into a relationship with a girl because "they are mean, trust me" Does she like me and what significance does that last detail have, if any?

you should try asking her out. Find out if she really likes you before you really get to like her. Many girls are too shy and we would all appreciate if guys would man up and ask us out.

Well you know its hard to say if she likes you or not. The best answer is to just ask but if you don’t want to do that you could ask her friends. You could be discreet by asking “so is (the girl) like any guys” (stuff like that) But for sure she is really good friends with you and often great friendships turn into relationships. In my case I had a thing for a girl and we were really good friends (quite similar to your situation) and so I got her alone and told her how I felt and asked her out and now shes my girlfriend!!

i think she's concerned about you just as a friend or brother.
....a girl who likes someone doesn't talk girly issues with.
if she told you not to get into a relationship with a girl, maybe bec. she had a bad encounter with some girls and she doesn't want you to get hurt.
