Rest! Take Tylenol or ibuprofen (which ever works best for you), and lie down! Or try sitting in a hot tub for a while. Either way, get off your feet! I hope you feel better!

Even physicians will recommend a Chiropractor. You can usually get a low/no cost first appointment. You don't say whether it is low or high back pain.
Advil or Tylenol are both good, but there may be something more going on, and it should be checked. If you are x-rayed, and it's determined you have a disc problem, then see an MD for a referral.
There are sites for back pain, symptoms and treatments. Use your search function.

If the pain is located near your shoulders or neck, could be stress.

Could be related to a lack of nutrients and water if the pain is in the lower back region (kidney problem).

These are some of the things my family and friends have reported to each other.

Might want to consult a physician about your problem if it is very serious.

find a wood floor or a 2" board and lay flat on it. Stretch. Soak in a hot tub. Put a frozen bag of peas on the area of your back that hurts. call in the mornin and make an appointment with a chiropractor (get him to alighn you and put the electronic thingy on your back) excersize your abs. Do yoga - more stretching. Swim. Do Not Drink Alcohol. Drink Tons of water. Dont Smoke!!
Thats about all Ive got- good luck with that.

What I would do is try tylenol after I took a nice hot shower or soak in a bath. Use epson salt too. I would also try a heating pad on my back on low or medium setting to not burn myself. When giong to bed, I would sleep on my stomach or side to not hurt my back. I would also try some Icy Hot cream. Don't do these all at the same time please. I like Icy Hot on my hip and knee. It works good on injuries. Get a good night sleep and make sure if you sit all day on your job to stretch your back out and walk around a little. Sit up straight too.

If your lower back is in pain, go to your Dr, there are other reason it may be hurting. these can be signs of kidney problems or bladder, also talk to your Dr about patches for pain. If it is something that isnt happening all the time, then I wouldnt worry to much about it, although if it is then you need to see a Dr.

Lay down? Or try getting one of those big excercise balls and just roll backwards like ur doing a back handspring. It helps me out a lot with my back pain.

Ice for 20 minutes on then 20 minutes off - this usually works best in conjunction with a hot Epsom salt soak - My final remedy for terrible back pain is good Ole, "Ben Gay", I apply at nite rite B 4 bed - I also like to lay on the steps with my back on them, this usually stretches things out pretty good - Good Luck, I hope these work for you..

I would suggest laying on a heating pad, taking a hot bath, or asking a friend or family member if they wouldn't mind massaging your back, and you giving them one back in return or something? That should work. And try taking Tylenol or ibuprofen.

Find a chiropractor. Many people are afraid of them, but they really do help. They'll pop your back into place. I have scholiosis, so every time my back hurts I visit the chiro.
