Yes, and I think you see some examples of that here

Yes. I believe this is true for the following reasons:

1. There are beliefs/philosophy (Toltec, Kabbalah to name a few) that say all men are just small fractions of The God and that we all are divine. That we all have some awesome power, we are just unaware.

2. If a man who doesn't care to spend his time thinking or gaining knowledge of himself or the world around him, he will never reach any level of higher awareness. "Too know yourself, is to know god."

3. There is also, the James Allen book, "As a Man Thinketh"
that basically says, as you think you live. You create your world through the power of thought.Man has the energy to attract what he wants from the universe. So my thinking continues- if my power of thought and intelligence can attract what I want that's something that's godlike.

I've read books on Buddhism, The Bible, Kabbalah, The Toltec Wisdom, the teachings of the Pleiadians, Scientology b/c I believe that there is something more to this universe. A higher power. All these books and teachings are very different, but one of the common threads (said in different ways) is we are all children of something god or the light or whatever you call it. I believe that. And the more knowledge or intelligence I gain, the more god like I feel in my own mind.

I am my own god in the sense that I create my own destiny. There is no purpose or reason for me to pray to nothing. I set goals and take the apporpriate action to attain them. Taking action yields far better results than submissively waiting for results from an unheard prayer.

Yes, this was the original sin of Adam. He sought knowledge so that he might be equal to God, rather than seeking knowledge for its own sake or in order to serve God.

This is the basis of original sin. We do not want God to be God but rather we want to be God.

Yes. We are supposed to be humbled by the gifts that God gave us--not boastful. Whatever talents or specialities we have--they are not through our own power--but the way that God intended us to be when He created us.

Men, make their own god in their own mind all the time. They don't want to except the one true God so they make one up that would never judge them and will let them live their lives however they please. It's called idolotry. www.wayofthemaster.com tells you about it.

yes, I have some interesting verses regarding this if you don't mind checking them out

045:023] Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilâh (god)? And Allâh knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allâh? Will you not then remember?

[045:024] And they say: "There is nothing but our life of this world, we die and we live and nothing destroys us except Ad-Dahr (time)." And they have no knowledge of it, they only conjecture.

[045:025] And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: "Bring back our (dead) fathers, if you are truthful!"

[045:026] Say (to them): "Allâh gives you life, then causes you to die, then He will assemble you on the Day of Resurrection about which there is no doubt. But most of mankind know not."

[045:027] And to Allâh belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And on the Day that the Hour will be established – on that Day the followers of falsehood (polytheists, disbelievers, worshippers of false deities) shall lose (everything).

[045:028] And you will see each nation humbled to their knees (kneeling), each nation will be called to its Record (of deeds). This Day you shall be recompensed for what you used to do.

[045:029] This Our Record speaks about you with truth. Verily, We were recording what you used to do (i.e. Our angels used to record your deeds).

[045:030] Then, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) and did righteous good deeds, their Lord will admit them to His Mercy. That will be the evident success.

[045:031] But as for those who disbelieved (it will be said to them): "Were not Our Verses recited to you? But you were proud, and you were a people who were Mujrimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals)."

[045:032] And when it was said: "Verily, Allâh's Promise is the truth, and there is no doubt about the coming of the Hour," you said: "We know not what is the Hour, we do not think it but as a conjecture, and we have no firm convincing belief (therein)."

It happens all the time. They discover the truth when they have the first accident and cannot even go to the bathroom by themselves or when they die...
