I proclaim myself to be catholic but um... I don't actually go to church at all. I also didn't really do any of the catholic communions(I think that's what they're called).

I do thank god everyday, but am I still considered a catholic?

Do you know why it is good to go to Church.. A place to pray and praise God in a group environment... it is for growth.. it is a spiritual hospital, sanctuary, classroom and a gathering place to make new friends with people who are trying to be Godly! It is a place to be rejuvenated! and it is a great place to network for community services.. Everyone is always saying how we should do community service and give of our selves.. but a lot of people talk but dont walk.

If you are not getting this at your church.. then visit another Christian Church.. as long as it is bible based... you are not in defiance... Find a church that feeds you and allows you to meet people in your age group as well..

I definitely still go to church and I do think it is important. I grew up in a bible believing church, married my wife that was a Christian after graduating from college. Continued to attend until I got into my 30's. I then walked away from church for about 5 years. I began looking at everything very negatively...began playing guitar in a rock band. Everything was going great on the outside but I was miserable on the inside. I began attending church again and slowly but surely began changing my attitude about church and began to grow in my faith. I am really much happier now that I'm back. There will always be problems here and there as we live in a sinful world. If you find a good, non compromising, Bible believing church I'm certain you'll find it will enrich your life as well. I've gone from Rock Band to Praise Band and I would not change back....

National Council of Churches a couple of years ago had 166 million registered church goers. Cannot have dropped off too much. Catholic had the highest number of registrants.

Although, I sometimes wonder if coming home from church they don't put their belief on the shelf until the following Sunday.

I do go to Church regularly. I am NOT a Catholic. I am a Christian. I am not sure if you are still a Catholic or not. Let me know what you find out.

You really need to find a Catholic parish that you like. I went to several before I found a good one with a priest I respect, learn from and trust. I actually enjoy going every week now and view our parish priest as a spiritual guide and friend.

I do go to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wed. I enjoy church. I learn so much from going. God is awesome, and I want to learn as much about Him as I can. I enjoy the fellowship with others. We help uplift each other in prayer. When my mom had a heart attack, and was near death. I had my church family, and others praying for us. You can choose what ever name of religion you want to be, but that won't get you to heaven. Only a personnel relationship with Jesus will get you to heaven. I have a question for you. If you died who would have your funeral? Someone who knows you, or a stranger. I prefer someone who knows me.

I talk to God often, though I do not go to church as often as I would like...though I think God understands. You can worship Him in your heart and through your acts as well, not just by sitting in a pew!

Priests have sex with little boys...Pastors get caught with drugs and hookers...how many guys go to church on Sunday and pork their secretaries on Monday? Going to church is all for show. Just be a good person and life is easy!
