Well if you do not have anything better to due with your time fight the ticket in court. You have a sound case just go to court and most of the time the officer will not show anyway in which case the ticket will be thrown out.
Law concerning construction sites generally give the people working at the construction site power to halt and direct traffic. As you were making a left hand turn and were hit on the right of your car no one could declare you at fault under this conditions. And as the other driver was sited as the person speeding and not following the direction of the persons doing the construction and in fact she struck your car they are at fault.
So you did not run the red light nor did you disobey the law in reguards to the following the law. A person working for the Highway department directed your actions you obeyed and you then suffered a ticket for obidence to the directions of the that state employ.
If you get a ticket and have to pay the ticket. You could have grounds to sue the Highway department for being instructed to follow there direction. The officer most likly will not show. But practice the case with friends so you will not be unset in court.
Your insurance should be filing a claim against the other driver. As she was speeding the courts will not fault you to much in kind of case. Also get a copy of the construction workers statement. Take it to court and invite him alone for the show.

Did the worker have a sign saying stop or slow > hand sign< if not i would think the police man was right once your light went red you missed your chance at making a legal turn .
Like the saying goes 2 wrongs don't make a right well really 3 if the worker waved you thur then he/she was in the wrong also because if their job was not directing traffic then they had no clue what traffic was doing and sometimes being nice can get somebody killed

The only way you have a chance is if the street worker would be willing to testify that they waved you through AND if they were authorized to direct traffic. If they were authorized to direct traffic then as a driver it is your responsibility to obey the person directing traffic. I'm not sure why you were given the ticket unless the officer writing it did not know about the street worker. Good Luck

You were in the left turn lane and instead went straight ahead? This means that, in effect, you changed lanes. This means the other driver had the right of way, regardless of her speed or whatever gestures some moronic highway worker made.
It appears the officer on the scene followed the applicable laws and any judge would rule accordingly.
No, you will not beat the ticket.

Simple, Plead NOT GUILTY on the ticket, subpeona the traffic worker and the other driver, tell the story to the judge. You were in a construction zone? Normal law may be invalid.

The police on the scene determined that you should have yielded right of way. She may have been speeding but because you failed to yield you got a ticket. The police determined you were both committing wrong acts. I don't think your chances of winning are very good.

If you ran the red light your at fault but if it was a zoned construction area and you were instructed by a worker to go it's definitely not your fault the other guy was going to fast and broke the law for failure to stop in a constructon zone I dont see it your fault if it was a constuction zone.

Hate to say it, but probably not. A street worker is not a policeman and only they are allowed to direct you on a red light. That probably holds for all the states.

Who had the red light? and if you had the green light you can win.. only thing is u need to prove that u had the green. So take witness and the lady who was letting you go threw. but i say yes and no depends on who had the right of WAY..
