my pooch is doing the same thing, like human phlegm (ick). I'd take him/her to the vet--same as I'm doing with my Phantom!

My lab unfortunately died at the ripe old age of 17 in October. He coughed up clear fluid for many years as he got older. My vet said it was a cross between Congestive heart failure and allergies. He would hack like an old man. The vet gave me some pills that helped with it and they did help. I can find out the name if you are interested.
God bless you and I am sure it is something that can be controlled.

Funny you should ask! I just went to the vet today about that. It is Kennal Cough. They seem like there coughing over and over again then throwing up clear fluid. And they act fine. Go to the vet when you get a chance ( we all know we cant make it there as fast as we can ) and they'll give your dog antibiodcts

Has your dog been around other dogs lately? Maybe it's kennel cough, it's very contagioous. Should get him checked out by a vet as kennel cough can be serious in older dogs. This website describes it.
