Depends on your equipment--if your output device and your TV can do 1080p over VGA. Not all TV's do (heck, most of them don't have VGA). Check the specs of your device and your TV set.

Above poster is incorrect.

HDMI can transmit 1080P content to your TV since it has roughly 3 times the bandwidth of DVI (DVI does not have enough bandwidth to transfer 1080P video).

VGA can also transfer high resolution video but most HDTVs today have very poor VGA interfaces that are usually quite problematic. In addition to this, HDTVs with VGA inputs are scarce.
