I have had some issues with bloating, diarrhea, and a gurgling uncomfortable stomach for 5 days. After I eat, within a half hour I have to run to the bathroom. I've been quite tired and sometimes lightheaded (probably from dehydration). Today, after my usual run to the bathroom, as I flushed the toilet I thought I saw a brown worm-like structure fighting the flush (picture dark brown earthworm-like about 1" in length). I'm totally freaked out. I've looked online and don't find a parasite that matches this description, however I'm afraid that it is just that.

Any information that can assist me in the direction I should head is very much appreciated. Doctor, herbs, cleansing, etc.

Please no defamatory or inconsiderate replies. Thanks.

You have probably had the equivalent of a colon cleanse with all the diarrhea.Your colon can carry up to 45 lbs of compacted feces and mucous that forms a plaque in your colon. And with this bout of illness you are probably stripping your colon clean. But, what you really need to address is the diarrhea. There really is no such thing as a flu that causes diarrhea.Flu is a respiratory illness. What you are describing is most likely food born illness.Did you eat food that was left on a counter at room temp? That is usually how people get it.And the most frequent time of the yr is Xmas and Thanksgiving. You'll need to go to your dr. and get some antiboitics. They will probably need a stool sample to test and find out what kind of bacteria they are looking for. I feel for you...stay away from milk, orange juice and fats until you see the dr. they have a tendency to make things worse.

It's most likely a type of parasite in order to get rid of them you should eat a tablespoon of sugar mixed with a tablespoon of olive this is a home remedy that my mom used to take in order to get rid of parasites and when you go to the bathroom you should see a lot more "worm like structures" in your toilet bowl. If this doesn't work then you should probably go see your doctor asap before you get extremely dehydrated and you should definitely stay away from caffeine because it is a natural diuretic which will make you even more dehydrated

I think at this point you need to call a doctor ASAP! Even if you don't have some sort of parasite and just a touch of the stomach flu, you are going to become dangerously dehydrated. Call a doctor tomorrow and I hope you feel better soon!

I highly doubt that you saw a worm, but if by some chance you actually did, please see a doctor ASAP anyway.

It sounds to me like you picked up some salmonella somewhere - it happens, unfortunately, but it's not always life-threatening. Whatever you have, you've had it for way too long. It's time to take a trip to the doctor. Like another poster said, you're running the risk of becoming dangerously dehydrated.

Would it be inconsiderate to suggest that maybe you're not thinking logically here?

If I feel like crap for a few days, I rest. If I feel like crap, and see a BIG DAMN WORM in my feces, I would go to the *emergency room*. What you described almost sounds like a hookworm, which starts out white but could be, ahem, stained brown.

But I am not a doctor, and I would suggest you go see one for a proper medical opinion. Sooner, rather than later.
