I'm pretty sure that spouses are not allowed to use the GI Bill intended for the active duty military. My husband is a Master Sargent in the Army and I asked him the same question a while back and he said no.

it's not intended for spouses, but there's a guy in my shop at work who's wife was able to pay for college (at least a good portion of it) with some military program. I don't know how he did it because she is not military, but it is possible.
Have your husband talk to his first Sargent because there is a way to get the military to help pay for spouces.
You can clep some courses. Spouces have to pay $80 per test, but it's cheaper than the whole class. go to the education office and they can help

The only way Military dependants can use the G.I. bill is if youre spouse dies in the combat zone. But you can always look up scholarships. Millions of dollars worth on the internet.

The Army is allowing it for certain critical career fields. You did not say if you were Army related or not. Check the websites listed below.
The USAF tried it in 2003 but so few took advantage of it, the program was cancelled the next year.
I know nothing about the Navy.
