Our Chihuahua had hiccups fairly often as a puppy. The vet said it was no cause for alarm. He mostly outgrew them.

Dreams/nightmares are also normal for dogs. If he whimpers in his sleep, I just say Stanly's name quietly, just loud enough for him to hear it, or just touch him lightly. He generally goes right back to sleep. If he doesn't seem distressed, I just let him dream on.

If she's really distressed, though, having a bad nightmare, I'd wake her by voice, not by touch. She might bite you as a startle response.

Hiccups are very normal in puppies, not very common in adult dogs. Dreaming occurs in dogs of all ages. Good Luck!!

Nope, that replaced into in basic terms a dream. i've got heard that the extra energetic a dogs is in his targets, the extra clever he's. My too-clever-for-his-very own-stable boy runs marathons and eats squirrels and smooches that French poodle down the line, yet my "2 strategies cells" min pin rather whimpers. i assume they *ought to* have nightmares. yet don't be alarmed through those noises! My canines make the main strange, loud, and each so often frightening noises whilst the sleep - howls, growls, squeals, crying, and so forth. no longer something to tension approximately and as nicely, it is not a stable thought to wake a drowsing, dreaming dogs.
