Try feeding her a low-calorie kibble variety. You also may try to change her diet into a "natural diet" with cooked vegees(potatoes, carrots, lettuce) and some ground meat(dogs love it but don't give TOO much). This diet is more healthy and free of additives and preservatives found in commercial dog food. Some trainers claim that it helps hyperactive dogs become calmer.

As for walks, can a neighbor kid take her for a walk once a day?
As for the extra weight, I would first take her to the vet and make sure she doesn't have an underlying medical problem. The doctor will make some nutritional recommendations. There are several product on the market today that even though are commercial, are extremely healthy and well studied.
You could also reduce her kibble and include some vegetables, like carrots or canned green beans.
Another thing would be make sure that you are feeding the appropriate amount. If it says 1 cup feed 1 cup with a 1 cup measuring cup. A 32 ounce big gulp cup is not 1 cup is actually 4 cups.
Last but not least....if you are giving her treats or table scraps STOP they are just extra calories

You can cut back her kibble by adding canned green beans or canned pumpkin to make up the bulk. They are okay for dogs, the pumpkin has beta kerotin and is very good. Both supply more fiber which are helpful for weight loss.
Also finding a good quality, human grade ingredient kibble that is reduced calorie would be good.
Never feed the amount of kibble the bag of food says to feed. The dog food companies love it when you feed too much, then you buy more food and keep the money rolling in for them.
Cutting back on her kibble will not take the place at any time of exercise. If you don't have time to walk her, is there anyone you trust you can pay to walk her daily?

First, the type of food that your dog receives is important. Some of the cheaper brands are the same as us eating fast food for every meal everyday. Secondly, you should keep your dog on a strict eating schedule. Depending on your dogs size, feed 1-2 cups of food twice a day. Leave each meal down for about 30 minutes and then pick it up. If she doesn't eat it then, don't feel like you are depriving her. You are teaching her to eat when you decide she can. (You must be who decides when she can eat.) Once you get her on a schedule, she will eat as soon as you put it down. As far as excercise goes, try to run around around the yard with her. See if you can get her to chase you. A little excercise everyday is better than none at all. Good luck.

Change her diet to a low calorie dog food. IAMS, Science Diet and Purina all have low calorie dog foods in both dry and canned versions. There are also low calorie doggie treats that you can give your dog. You didn't mention if you were giving your dog table scraps. That will also add love handles on your dog.
This will help, but your dog needs to receive more fun time, and this will take care of the exercise. Certainly you can find 10 to 15 minutes to play with your dog.
My dogs were getting puggy from eating Kibbles and Bits. I changed them to a lamb and rice formula and they have really trimmed down. They also seem to have lots more energy.

Do not feed her while you and/or yr family is eating. Limit to 2 times a day w/ low fat food. She also needs vitamins like human do. I can't help you about the walking part. My dog gets walk twice mostly by my mom and I walk her on the weekend. He loves to be outside. Throughout the day, I just trained him to run outside to do his routine and when he is done he comes back into the house. Sometimes, he runs farer than he should but it is a price for providing yr dog some freedom. I lure him back w/ a treat. All dog loves to be outside. Your dog might not get used to it. Encourage him to be active w/ you for now on the weekend. Really spend sometime w/ yr dog. If she dies(oppssorry) you will not regret! Make time! All of us is busy too or have other family member helped u out and takes turn. Good luck!

You should walk her every day, for as long as you can. View it as your "gym" time. To supplement the walks, teach her to walk on a treadmill. She should only do this while you can observe her, but hey, what else are you gonna do while you eat your cornflakes?
Make sure you measure her kibble carefully. Even a small increase in the amount can add up to pounds on your pooch.
A weight problem for dogs is the same as for human. You have to increase calorie burning and/or reduce caloric intake. Good luck.

You have to find at least 10 minutes to walk her. Change her food to the kind for overweight dogs and reduce the amount of treats and/or people food she might be getting.
Exercise is far better then a strict diet.

Get up an hour early and take her for a brisk one hour walk. After dinner instead of watching the news take her for another brisk one hour walk. If you do that and put her on low fat kibble you will have a happier and healthier dog.

Well, if you cannot provide enough exercise daily, then you can blame yourself. If it is a large dog, she needs lots of daily activities anyways.
For dogs to lose weight, they need plenty of exercise and a decreased amount of kibble. Usually like a half to one cup less is fine.
But you really should consult your veterinarian for the best advice on this issue.
