You don't. Male dogs are built to eliminate over a period of time to facilitate marking their territory. Don't cheat your dog out of a nice walk. Go around and let him sniff and mark and stretch his legs. Make time for him.

When he really has to go, he'll, um, let all of his bladder out. When he just squirts a bit, he's scent marking his territory, or outside of his territory, he's letting other dogs know he's been there. Our dog lifts his leg even when he doesn't have a drop left to mark with.

I'm not sure if this is typical with every male dog, but mine stopped that when he was neutered. It does sort of make since a male marking his territory can be related to attracting females in heat, as well as marking out there territory, anyway if they can't mate why bother?

That's a dog's natural instinct. You shouldn't make a dog changes his/her natural ways because it might be a problem for you. My female dogs do that too.

They pee in multiple places all over the yard and it can be 20 degrees outside and I can be freezing my butt off but I'm always sure to walk them until they are ready to go in no matter how many places they have to pee.

Don't let him stop at every bush or tree on the walk. Keep going until he gets the rhythm of the walk, like migrating. When you rest, then he gets a chance to eliminate. Whenever I get in this state of mind, my dogs tend to grab that opportunity to pee big-time. They know they've gotta get it done before the walk starts up again. Basically, if you determine when he has opportunity, then he's going to figure out that he better finish the job.

ya show him. When you walk him, take a full pee infront of him and make sure he does the same...no Im joking....when dogs pee just a little squirt here and there its not actually cuz they have to pee, its marking territory. It hardwired into their system of doggy natural instincts. So dont walk your dog until no more pee comes out cuz I think they can pee forver little drops here and there...well Im sure my dog can....so in answers to your question, I dont think you can train him to pee only at one point in your walk, they like/need to mark territory.

You can beat him. Just kidding, he's not doing this just to annoy you, he's marking his territory and as long as your walking him along a path lined with trees or what have you, then he'll continue doing it.

would be cruel to break a dog of his natural instinct of marking territory.
